1. Data controller
TerraGuide, developed by Adrian Wagemans (adrianwagemans@gmail.com). This policy applies to the TerraGuide mobile app (iOS and Android) and the website terraguide.vercel.app.
2. Data we collect
The app does not require a user account. We collect only: • Location (foreground only): to detect nearby points of interest and trigger the audio guide automatically. Not stored on our servers. • Anonymous usage data: route viewed, audio played and favourites saved. Contains no personal identifiers. • Local cache: downloaded routes and audio are stored on your device using Isar (local database) and deleted when the app is uninstalled.
3. Third-party services
The app uses the following external services: • OpenStreetMap (openstreetmap.org): map tiles, subject to the ODbL licence. No personal data is transmitted. • Supabase: storage of route images and audio on EU servers. We do not store personal user data in Supabase. • Railway: API server hosted in the EU.
4. Purpose of processing
Location data is used exclusively for the real-time audio guide feature. Anonymous usage data is used to improve the experience and provide municipalities with statistics on route usage.
5. Legal basis (GDPR)
Location processing is based on explicit user consent, requested on app install. Anonymous usage data is processed under legitimate interest for service improvement.
6. Data retention
Anonymous usage data is retained for a maximum of 12 months. Location data is never stored on any server.
7. Your rights
You have the right to access, rectify, erase and object to the processing of your data. To exercise these rights, contact: adrianwagemans@gmail.com
8. Minors
The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from minors.
9. Changes to this policy
Any significant changes will be notified within the app. The last updated date appears at the top of this document.
